Job Description PURPOSE OF THE ROLETraction Battery System – Engineer We are currently looking to recruit Battery expert for Projects for our team located in UK.In this role you are going to be responsible of traction battery sub- systems for all power ranges within railway application including battery units, battery cooling, battery chargers and their interface into the propulsion chain. The key vehicle functionality of a railway with energy storage needs to be part of the product portfolio definition. As expert for CFO (catenary free operation) Applications and Projects – Battery you need to define roadmaps for all related building blocks of a traction battery system including technology roadmaps. You are managing the alignment of roadmaps with other functions on propulsion and vehicle level. You will have a key role within in the product selection during BID phase. You provide technology expertise for long term roadmap definition and lead in the selection of supplier and ensure the product meets the requirements specified.


• Product Management of building blocks for Energy storage systems on Railway vehicles (Batteries, Super Capacitors, Cooling Units, Charger, related electronics and software) • Technology definition of batteries and other storage technologies, cost comparison, roadmap Definition.

• Supporting BID and Sales for battery sub-system definition in line with customer requirements.

• Influencing customers by offering competitive standardized solutions and technology expertise.

• Technology evaluation of energy storage (batteries, supercapacitors), providing technology expertise, technology roadmap and supplier evaluation.

• Benchmarking between suppliers and technology.

• Write specifications for key building blocks. • Analysing of battery lifetime data to optimize future usage and requirements.

• Leading R&D projects for traction battery systems and their integration into all kind of railway vehicles.Qualifications

• Relevant academic background, Master of electrical engineering or similar.

• At least 3 years of experience within electrical power transmission.

• Knowledge on battery technology for electrical propulsion.

• Experience within leading R&D projects.

• Ability regarding cross functional and cross-country collaboration.

• Desired competencies: communication, team player, drive for results, flexibility, problem solving and innovation.

• Fluent in English Education Type B.E/B.Tech/BS-Mechanical Engineering Experience Level Senior Level
